Foundation

Established in 1974, the Ananda College Quiz Club has been dedicated to elevating young Anandians to the highest levels of competitive quizzing. With a mission to expand members' knowledge beyond the school curriculum, the club has earned a reputation as one of Sri Lanka's premier school quiz teams over its 50-year history. The current teachers in charge are Mrs. Lakmini Alwis and Mrs. Dulani Sumanadasa.

Main Initiatives

Mind Probe: An annual island-wide quiz competition known as "The Ultimate Odyssey for Unique Excellence." The Mind Probe 2024 featured participation from over 70 schools and 95 teams.
Ananda Nenasa: An inter-school quiz competition for grades 4-11, where teams compete to become the top quizzing team of their grade.
Quiz de Maroons: An annual quiz contest between Ananda College and Nalanda College, held alongside the Battle of the Maroons. In 2024, Ananda College’s quiz team won both the senior and junior competitions.
Triangular: An annual quiz competition between Ananda College, Royal College, and Musaeus College, started in 2014 to foster friendships among the three schools.
Brainiac Blitz: Launched in 2024, this online quiz competition, organized with Mahamaya College, challenges participants individually to become the ultimate champion.
Blues and Maroons: A new annual quiz competition initiated in 2024 between Ananda College and St. Joseph’s College to build camaraderie. In its inaugural edition, Ananda College won both senior and junior categories.

The Ananda College Quiz Club is recognized as one of the leading school quiz teams on the island and currently holds the 3rd place in the School Quizzing Championship leaderboard.
