Celebrating French Language and Culture

The Ananda College French Club is recognized as one of the premier school French clubs on the island. The French language has been a cornerstone of Ananda College’s curriculum since its inception. The Club is committed to promoting French language and cultural activities, including organizing a yearly Multi-Cultural Exhibition, intra-school and inter-school quiz competitions, vibrant food festivals, and various other events and competitions.

Currently, the Club is actively participating in a Connecting Classrooms project with a school in Belgium, fostering international collaboration and cultural exchange. Its initiatives aim to enhance students' proficiency in French, deepen their understanding of Francophone cultures, and strengthen community engagement. Additionally, the Quiz team of Ananda College French Club is at the pinnacle of French quizzing in Sri Lanka, with Sithija Kuruwitaarachchi serving as the current Quiz Captain. The Club’s activities are supervised by Teacher In-Charge Mrs. Shyamalie De Costa.
