A Legacy of 94 Unbroken Years

Established in 1930 within the revered halls of Ananda College, the Buddhist Society stands as the oldest continuous organization in the school's illustrious history. For 94 years, the Society has provided invaluable service, nurturing the spiritual growth of students within the college and extending its influence to the broader community of Buddhist students beyond its walls.

Founding and Evolution

Originally founded as "Paropakara Samitiya" (The Altruistic Society) with the noble mission of aiding others, it holds the distinction of being the first society ever established at Ananda College. By 1940, it had been renamed the Ananda College Buddhist Society, reflecting its renewed mission to preserve and propagate Buddhist traditions.

Ongoing Commitment

Today, the Society remains unwavering in its commitment to imparting Buddhist customs and religious practices to future generations. It meticulously oversees all religious activities at the Ananda College Vihara Mandiraya, ensuring these sacred traditions are upheld and continue to thrive.
