Damsath Peiris Crowned National U-14 Tennis Champion

Ananda College is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Damsath Peiris, who clinched the Boys’ Under-14 Singles Championship at the prestigious 111th Sri Lanka National Tennis Championships, held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts in Colombo on 15th August 2025. This historic tournament, first established in 1915, is the premier tennis event in the country, showcasing the nation’s finest young talent.

Damsath displayed exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, defeating strong opponents on his path to the final. His impressive performance on court reflects not only his personal commitment and discipline but also the encouragement and support he receives from his coaches, teachers, and peers at Ananda College.

The Sri Lanka National Tennis Championships draw players from across the island and are considered the highest level of competition for local athletes. Securing the U-14 Singles title at such an event is a testament to Damsath’s growing stature as one of the most promising young tennis players in Sri Lanka.
