IMPREZA 25' Ananda College Sets a New Standard in Student Innovation

The ninth grand edition of IMPREZA, the flagship event organized by the Ananda College Engineering Technology Association, was held with great success on July 14th, 2025. First inaugurated in 2014, IMPREZA returned this year after a brief pause following its 2022 edition and it made an extraordinary impact.

The highlight of IMPREZA 25’ was a spectacular Motor Show, showcasing vehicles designed and developed entirely by the students of the Technology Section. These remarkable creations stood as bold examples of student ingenuity and technical excellence.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Rajith Pandithage, CEO of DIMO, who served as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering at the Kularathna Memorial Hall, he emphasized the importance of innovation and encouraged students to pursue careers in technology, drawing from his own journey as a distinguished old Anandian. He further pledged his continued support to the school and its technological initiatives, promising to extend a helping hand whenever needed.

The success of IMPREZA 25’ was made possible through the visionary leadership of the Principal, Mr. D. M. L. P. Dissanayake, and the dedicated guidance of Mr. Viraj Karunaratne, Head of the Technology Section. Their encouragement and direction were instrumental in bringing the students' innovations to life.

More than 20 invited schools from across the island visited the exhibition and expressed high praise for its quality, creativity, and educational value — further affirming IMPREZA's reputation as one of the premier school-level technology showcases in Sri Lanka.

The combined effort of the Board of Officials, members of the Engineering Technology Association, and the academic staff ensured that this year's event was not only a celebration of knowledge and skill but also a source of inspiration for the next generation of innovators.

With IMPREZA 25’, Ananda College has set a new benchmark, proving once again that passion, guidance, and collaboration can spark true innovation.
