On the 18th of July, a special felicitation ceremony was held in honor of Col V. S. Kudaligama, the esteemed former principal of Ananda College. The event, which took place in the college’s main auditorium, attracted a large gathering of distinguished Old Anandians and dignitaries, showcasing the profound respect and admiration held for Col Kudaligama.
Among the notable attendees were Hon. Karu Jayasooriya, the former Speaker of Parliament; Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksha, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force; Dr. Anil Ja Singh the Additional Director to the President Mr. Prabhath Chandrakeerthi, the secretary of Environmental Ministry and several high-profile members of the security forces. The ceremony also witnessed the participation of all living past principals of Ananda College, further highlighting the significance of the occasion.
The event commenced with a series of speeches, where speakers reminisced about Col Kudaligama’s impactful tenure and his contributions to the college’s growth and excellence. His leadership and dedication were praised as instrumental in shaping the future of many students and the institution itself.
Following the speeches, a special segment was dedicated to the unveiling of photographs of all past principals and founders of Ananda College. This act was a tribute to the legacy and enduring influence of the college’s leadership over the years.
Ven Diviyagaha Yasassi Thero graced the event with his presence, adding a spiritual dimension to the proceedings and offering blessings for the continued prosperity of the college.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, and the attendees were invited to a reception where they shared memories and expressed their gratitude to Col Kudaligama and all the past leaders of Ananda College.
