Ananda College Hosts Exclusive Workshop to Mark 150th Anniversary of Panaduravadaya

On the 28th, Ananda College in Colombo became a focal point of national pride and religious revival as it hosted an exclusive workshop titled "Duties and Responsibilities of a Buddhist Student in the 21st Century." This event was organized to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the historical Panaduravadaya, a pivotal moment in the resurgence of the and Buddhist identity.

The workshop, which commenced at 8 am at the Olcott Hall of the College, was a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Education, the Department of Buddhist Affairs, the Boddhaloka Foundation, and the Buddhist Association of Ananda College. The event brought together students from 83 Buddhist schools across the island, providing a unique platform for young Buddhists to engage in discussions and presentations on their role in the modern world.

The closing ceremony of the Panaduravadaya celebration marked the culmination of a series of events aimed at reviving the cultural and spiritual heritage of Sri Lanka. This workshop emphasized the importance of understanding and fulfilling the responsibilities of Buddhist students as they navigate the challenges of the 21st century, ensuring that the values and teachings of Buddhism continue to thrive in the contemporary era.
