Ananda College Under 17 Badminton team managed to clinch the Super A Division Championship

After a decade-long wait, Ananda College has triumphantly reclaimed its place at the pinnacle of school badminton by clinching the Under-17 Super A Division Championship at the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Tournament 2025. The prestigious tournament was held from April 28 to May 2 at the Indoor Stadium of St. Thomas' College, Bandarawela, bringing together the island's most talented young shuttlers.

Displaying exceptional skill, determination, and team spirit, the Ananda Under-17 team battled through intense competition to reach the finals, where they faced the formidable Dharmaraja College, Kandy. With unwavering focus and brilliant coordination, Ananda secured a resounding 3-1 victory, marking a historic moment as they reclaimed the Super A Division title after ten long years.

This remarkable achievement not only highlights the rising standard of badminton at Ananda College but also reflects the tireless dedication of the players, the commitment of the coaching team, and the strong support system behind them. Notably, the visionary leadership, valuable guidance, and constant supervision of our Principal, Mr. Lal Dissanayaka, played a pivotal role in this success.
