The newly renovated Counseling Unit of Ananda College was ceremonially opened on 19th June 2025 at an auspicious time, with the blessings of the Maha Sanga.
Under the visionary guidance of the Principal, Mr. Lal Dissanayake, the new Counseling Unit was established with the aim of nurturing well-rounded Ananda students — mentally free and enriched with knowledge. Recognizing that the previous counseling facility did not provide a conducive psychological environment for students, the decision was taken to create a modern, student-friendly counseling space.
The new unit has been set up on the sixth floor of the seven-story building. Following the Principal’s direction, Mrs. Anuradha Weerakoon, the teacher in charge of counseling, led the project with dedication and care. The initiative was generously supported by the Ananda College Old Boys’ Association, students of the Counseling Club, and parents involved in the Duke of Edinburgh program.
The Deputy Principals and the staff of Ananda College also rendered their fullest cooperation to ensure the success of this meaningful endeavor.
