June 20, 2025

Ananda College had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation of approximately 120 school Principals from the Thambuththegama Education Zone on Tuesday. This professional visit was part of the Capacity Development Programme for Principals, initiated and coordinated by the Zonal Director of Education, Mrs Suranji Amuduwa. Several Directors of Education were also present, underlining the value placed on educational leadership and system-level collaboration.

The visitors were warmly welcomed by Mr Lal Dissanayake the Principal of Ananda College, who delivered the opening remarks. He highlighted the importance of inter-zonal engagement and shared the College’s commitment to administrative innovation and holistic education. The guests were given a guided overview of the College's academic and co-curricular landscape, offering valuable exposure to its governance structure and institutional culture.

A carefully curated programme followed, featuring a focused question-and-answer session. This interactive forum allowed the participants to explore areas such as instructional leadership, school improvement planning, student welfare systems, and resource optimisation. The exchange enabled a rich dialogue on contemporary challenges and effective strategies in school management.

The concluding session took place at the Kularathna Memorial Hall, where Mrs Suranji Amuduwa addressed the gathering and praised the planning and execution of the programme. She also appreciated the leadership of Ananda College and the collaborative spirit evident throughout the visit. The participants expressed positive feedback on the relevance and professionalism of the event.

In his vote of thanks, Deputy Principal Mr Sugeeth Madhuranga conveyed his sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. He acknowledged the wholehearted support of the academic and non-academic staff, the Prefects’ Guild, various clubs and societies, and both present and past Anandians. Their collective effort ensured that the programme was not only informative but also a memorable experience for all attendees.
