Ananda College Felicitates 171 Students with 9 A’s at the 23rd Annual O/L Felicitation Ceremony

The 23rd Annual O/L Teacher-Student Felicitation Ceremony of Ananda College was held on 23rd June 2025 at the Kularatna Hall, to honour the outstanding academic achievements of students who sat for the 2023 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination. This year, 171 students who obtained 9 A passes were felicitated along with their dedicated teachers, in recognition of their exceptional performance and commitment.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests. Mr. Prasantha Lal De Alwis, President’s Counsel and Principal of Sri Lanka Law College, attended as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Kithmina Hewage, Senior Advisor at the Center for Asian Philanthropy & Society and an expert at the World Economic Forum, participated as the Guest of Honour. Their thought-provoking and motivational addresses encouraged students to pursue both academic and personal excellence.

Organized for the second consecutive year by the Old Anandians’ 2010 Group, the event reflected careful planning and a deep commitment to the school’s tradition of excellence. The group was led by its President Mr. Chandula Dissanayake, with Mr. Thimitha Gamage and Mr. Sanjeewa Udawatte serving as Project Leads, and Mr. Shenal Perera and Mr. Indunil Ranchamara as Project Co-chairs. The success of the ceremony was made possible through the active support of the Principal, Mr. D. M. L. P. Dissanayake, whose guidance and leadership were instrumental in making the event meaningful and impactful. Sincere appreciation is also extended to the Deputy Principals, academic staff, and the Ananda College Old Boys’ Association for their continued encouragement and collaboration.

The organizing committee also extended heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors, as well as to the Broadcasting Unit, Prefects’ Guild, Brass Band, Music and Dancing Circles, Buddhist Association, and the Radio Club for their invaluable contributions. As the college community gathered to celebrate this proud achievement, the event stood as a source of inspiration for future generations of Anandians to follow in the footsteps of excellence.
