Planet Green Force (PGF) hosted its third Train the Trainer session on Tuesday, 23rd June 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The session was led by Dr. Aruna Kulathunga and organized under the guidance and sponsorship of Prof. Harith Wickrema, Founder of Planet Green Force.
This interactive session brought together students and teachers to collaboratively brainstorm research ideas and develop innovative educational tools for the PGF Center. The aim was to cultivate a strong sense of ownership and passion for environmental education, in alignment with UNESCO’s Greening Education Partnership.
Key areas of focus included:
- Climate science literacy
- Aquaponics and hydroponics
- Curating nutritious food from harvest to table
- Addressing food and nutrition security
- Soil regeneration and sustainable agriculture
The upcoming PGF Center, currently under construction behind the five-storied Pasmahal building of Ananda College, is set to become a dynamic hub for experiential learning and sustainable innovation.
Planet Green Force warmly invites students, educators, and community members to contribute ideas that will further enrich the center’s programs. Visit www.planetgreenforce.org for more details or to share your suggestions via email.
We also encourage submissions for our monthly newsletter—green-themed essays, artwork, and photographs of food cultivation and sustainability projects are all welcome.
Planet Green Force is more than a project—it’s a growing movement to nurture eco-conscious leadership for a greener tomorrow.
